A day in Sta. Cruz Marinduque

I was so excited when my friend invited me to travel Marinduque, from Makati where I check-in, I am not familiar with that place so I have a little bit afraid since our call time is 3 in the morning to catch early morning trip to dalahican Port in Lucena, Quezon.

I ride a Fairview-bound bus from Buendia and I told the driver to drop me off in Jac liner station.from there I waited for my travel buddy Paula and Karl before to board the 4am trip.

The travel time to  dalahican port is approximately five hours from Cubao. Upon arrival in the port, we fall in line to buy a ferry ticket bound to Balanacan port and fare is P260 + P30 terminal fee.

The schedule of the ferry is very infrequent the last trip of that day is 12 noon. Paula and I decided to eat breakfast in carenderia inside the port. I ordered pork adobo-P50 its not worth it, lack of ingredients, plain rice-P10 and C2 500ml-P35.

The ferry where about to use has arrived around 10am and estimated departure is 10:30am from lucena. We board in M/v Starhorse and travel time crossing to Marinduque is approximately 3 hours.

We arrived in balanancan port around 2pm, we walk outside the port to look a van/jeep bound to Sta.Cruz, travel time is almost 1 hour and fare is P80.

Where to stay in Sta. Cruz, Marinduque?

We stayed in the Dewey hotel a very cheap hotel in the place, we booked a ventilated room for only 350 pesos with private Cr. After we settled down we eat our lunch in near carenderia and take a nap after.

We decided to do a walking tour around 4:30 pm and we are lucky to witness their Sagala, the participant was so handsome and beautiful as they walk to the primary road of Sta. Cruz and We buy fish ball and ice cream while watching them.

The main highlight our walking tour is the old houses that we passed by and the Holy Cross church or known as Sta. Cruz Church. We decided to eat our dinner in a small resto and we ordered Spaghetti that super cold not hot at P40 and melon shake P30.

The sun is already set so we decided to go back to our hotel wash up and lights off.

The next day morning we woke up early and eat our breakfast in the restaurant of  our hotel I ordered Longsilog with pineapple juice at 120 pesos.

We check out and headed to Bayudbod port to catch the ferry bound to Maniwaya Island.
